La Villa Reyes: Authentic Guest Experiences at Playa Las Tortugas
We believe the best way to understand Playa Las Tortugas — and our home, La Villa Reyes — is to hear directly from the people who have experienced it.
This post is an authentic summary of all the Airbnb reviews we’ve received. We are honored to hold a perfect 5.0 rating from 48 guests from around the world — families, couples, solo travelers, pet owners, and adventurers. Rather than describe Playa Las Tortugas in our own words, we think letting our guests share their experiences is the best way to communicate what makes this stretch of coastline — and La Villa Reyes — so special.
Over and over, visitors call La Villa Reyes “a slice of paradise,” “a little slice of heaven,” and “a true gem in the Pacific.” Playa Las Tortugas is remote — and that’s part of its magic.
Guests are honest about the journey in. The road to Playa Las Tortugas is described as “a bit bumpy,” “a challenge,” and “9 km of rocky road terrain.” But almost every review follows with the same conclusion: “Once you arrive it’s worth it because it’s paradise.” Another guest shared, “The dirt road is worth it. Very safe, perfect for rest.” In fact, many say that road is the secret to having “the entire beach to ourselves!!! Completely unexpected!”
The beach at Playa Las Tortugas leaves a lasting impression: “10 miles, surrounded by coconut trees, perfect sunsets, turtles nesting every night.” Guests love the “nearly deserted beach,” “powder sand,” and “fun waves.” One family wrote, “We could walk our dog for miles and not see a single soul.” Others describe turtle releases as “fascinating” and “absolutely amazing,” and call it “one of Mexico’s best kept secrets.”
The villa itself is frequently described as “better than the pictures,” “beautiful and well maintained,” and “perfectly organized and completely stocked.” Guests appreciate “comfortable beds, high quality appliances, great A/C and reliable wifi.” At Playa Las Tortugas, it’s a place where you can unplug completely — or enjoy modern comforts while surrounded by nature.
Many reviews highlight Maria and Mario, who “became our extended family,” are “super attentive,” and make guests feel at home. “Maria makes amazing guacamole,” one guest wrote. Another shared, “You won’t be disappointed” if you book her cooking.
Perhaps the most common theme is how people feel. “You start to decompress the moment you drive down the road,” one repeat guest wrote. Another said simply, “It’s so peaceful that it fills your spirit.”
And the closing line we see again and again from guests: “We will be back.”
