Playa Las Tortugas Owners’ Favorite Times to Visit
Our villa owners spilled on their favorite times of the year to visit Playa Las Tortugas.
We have seekers of summer heat. To the sunshine cravers. And autumn aficionados.
The “high season” in Playa Las Tortugas runs from Christmas to Spring Break, measured in terms of number of visitors. This is largely driven by the US and Canadian school vacation calendar combined with the fact that the weather in Playa Las Tortugas is glorious that time of year. To cap it off, that’s also the time of year North America experiences its coldest weather.
But remove the calendar constraints and the answer to when is the best time to visit Playa Las Tortugas broadens. Here’s an insider’s tip, the homeowners chose to host their annual meeting in the beginning of November…shhhhhh.
John, owner of La Villa Reyes loves the Winter solstice. Because it feels like the “golden hour” all day long thanks to the lower angle of the sun.
Joel, owner of Puesta del Sol chose October & November. He loves how green the landscape is, the plethora of sea turtles, and the fact that temps have cooled from their summer highs.
Adriana, owner of Villa Tortuga, similar to Joel, prefers October. That’s when the rainy season has ended, it’s a little cooler, and the turtles are still nesting and hatching in large numbers.
Julieta, owner of Casa Corazon is a fan of June to August. Everything is a deep tropical green, and the water is so warm.
Gevara, owner of Casa Maria is enchanted by March. He said that’s when they’re exhausted by the Portland rain and are craving sun!
Glen, owner of Casa de Colores, likes Mid-summer, just like Julieta. He likes the hot weather, combined with the nighttime thunderstorms, and the fact that the pools and ocean are so, so warm.
Tim, owner of La Villa Linda enjoys October the most. It’s the tail-end of the summer but you still get theatrical thunder and lightning shows at night, without so much heat.
Enjoy your winter and keep dreaming of the tropics!
