A day in Playa Las Tortugas.

Your day begins—sipping coffee on your deck gazing at the ocean. The birds are awake. The waves breaking. The only sounds. No traffic, dogs, or construction. The air feels soft. The morning sun is warm.

First steps

Head to the beach. You’re the only one there. 5 miles—no people. Shorebirds and crabs scurry about their morning work. The water is balmy on your feet. Coffee is empty, head back to your villa.

Garden detour

You detour through the gardens. Zig zagging your way through. Over 100 gardens. Impossible to know all the names. Circle back to your villa. Your family has begun to emerge. Your daughter is already on the beach looking intently at something in the sand.

Dawn patrol

Your kids are awake when you get back. Waxing their surfboards. No wetsuit needed. They’ll have the break all to themselves.

Afternoon adventure

The local rancher brings your horses right to your villa. Saddle-up in the shade of the coconuts. Splash in the waves and ride with your herd down the empty beach.

Release of the baby turtles

Each evening our resident biologist brings 30 to 100 recently hatched baby sea turtles to the water’s edge. A handful of guests gather. He lays them in the sand so they can “imprint” on their home and someday return. They scramble to the waves. It’s unforgettable.

The evening show

As the day winds down everyone from your villa is drawn to the setting sun. A few other guests gather as well.
